National Population Commission e-Recruitment portal 2023 Census
The National Population Commission (NPC) has launched the portal for e-recruitment of it ad-hoc staff for the 2023 census. The commission while addressing newsmen on Monday in Abuja, the Census Manager, Inuwa Jalingo said the commission will do everything possible to carry out the Census.
The commission is expected to receive large application from applicant of over 25 million application for the available jobs. The commission stressed that the process will be competitive, reliable and transparent.
He stated that the Adoption of the e-recruitment approach is to ensure the widespread of applications. He also said that from every localities in the country and to minimize bias and ascertain that anyone who is qualified as Nigerian has equal opportunity to make application and be recruited without anyone been left behind.
The portal has been tested during the pretest and the trial Census which has received great improvement to serve all the different categories of ad-hoc staff. This e-recruitment portal was adopted by the commission to recruit ad-hoc staff for the 2023 Population and Housing Census.
Jalingo maintained that the categories of staff to be recruited were, facilitators, training centre administrators, monitoring & evaluation officers, data quality managers, data quality assistants, supervisors, enumerators and special work force.

He also stated that the basic requirements for the application, were, National Identification Number Valid and Functional Gmail Account, Valid and Functional Phone Number, Valid and Functional /Operational Commercial Bank Account (No student/NYSC Account) Valid Educational Qualifications, referees “access to and knowledge on the use of computers, tablets & smartphones is an added advantage,” he noted.
He said that the National Population Commission personnel will be drawn from the communities where they are resident. The purpose of this is to remove huge logistics of moving the personnel from one location to another. Every community will have that opportunity of contributing to the census workforce thereby ensuring that people are adequately captured and counted.
Isa-Kwarra emphasised that the recruitment process will reflect greatly on the quality of data to be collected and ultimately the success of the 2023 census.
“While a good recruitment exercise will not by itself necessarily guarantee a successful census, a badly conducted recruitment process will inevitably lead to problems and increase the risk of an unsuccessful census.
“The launching of the online E-recruitment portal for the 2023 census at the headquarters marks the beginning of the online recruitment process whereby Nigerians from all demography and gender can hook on to the website that will be provided by the Commission to fill the online form and get themselves registered to be recruited.”
